Since 2010 we have been making our own jeans here in SF. We started with two fits, the 1196 and the 1197. These jeans were made to be purely about the fit and not about the bling details. For us, less is more. We use low contrast stitching, clean back pockets, coated dark hardware, black pocket bags, and raw Cone Mills Denim. It is a clean blue jean that dresses well with a sports coat as well as dressed down, worn in, ripped, and with a t-shirt.
The difference between 1196 and the 1197 is the fit and the legs, the detailing is the same. The 1196 is the slimmer of the two and is today considered the contemporary fit. Back in 2010, the 1197 out-performed the 1196 and was considered the classic (wider) straight leg. Today, the 1196 out-performs the 1197 and we considered this as we progress and design the next jean, the 1195.
This jean contains the 1197 top block, same high thigh, reshaped leg going into the knee and down to the ankle. It is our new classic slim, easy in the thigh, but slim from the knee down. We are excited to improve our fits and find a jean that meets the market we have seen holes for. We make this jean out of Cone Mills denim and once again, sewn up in the heart of SF. We hope to release this batch of jeans to you in the beginning of Fall 2015.
